About Me

Born in Winnipeg, Christine lived briefly in Ottawa before being raised in Oakville, Ontario, where she earned her Grade 8 Piano with the Royal Conservatory of Music. She earned her Honours Bachelor of Journalism degree at Ottawa's Carleton University. She undertook more than five years of classical voice study with Gloria Jean Nagy, singing and soloing with the Amabile Singers of Nepean. Soon after, Christine joined the Canadian Centennial Choir, where she sang for over ten seasons.

She has worked under National Arts Centre guest conductors Helmuth Rilling and Trevor Pinnock in several massed choir presentations. She has sung solo with the Kanata Choral Society, CAMMAC and area churches (paid and unpaid).

Ms. Jenkins completed her voice teacher's Viva Voce and pedagogy exams in 1998, and was awarded her teaching diploma with First Class Honours by London's Western Ontario Conservatory of Music (now Conservatory Canada).

Ms. Jenkins is currently a member of the Ontario Music Teachers' Association and the Gloucester Music Teachers' Association. She teaches Voice and Rudiments, and more recently piano, and performs in the Ottawa region
